Ever feel like you have a split personality because you’re straddling the line between your business and your day job? Like you have to be in one mode to be effective in one realm, and a completely different mode to be successful in the other?
Welcome to the club!
Okay, I’ll let you in on my version of this scenario. To be honest, sometimes I get super overwhelmed with trying to to function well in two completely different realms – maybe you can relate.
Last week a client asked me, “Allison, how can I possibly position myself as an expert in my business when I know that there are people in the world who are more experienced and knowledgeable than I am?”
I love this question because many of us can relate to it: the feeling that you’re, well, kind of “faking it” in your business. Because, heck, I can do a Google search and find 10 other people who seem like they know more than I do in my field!
One of my favorite things about being an entrepreneur with a virtual business is that I can work from anywhere. Well, anywhere that has an Internet connection and my computer, that is – and these days, that’s a lot of places!
In fact, as I write this blog post I’m in an airplane high above the clouds looking down at the sunny Grand Canyon. How lucky is that? (I kind of wish I were down there right now with a backpack and a walking stick…)
